What is the difference between a head office, a sub office and a branch office?
A head office is the main office of a postal division. Sub offices handle most counter services in towns and cities. Branch offices are small offices, mostly in villages, that work under a sub office.
Does every post office deliver mail?
No. Some offices only run counters (stamps, Speed Post, savings). For each office we show whether its postmen deliver mail.
Are the post office timings shown?
Not yet: India Post's open data doesn't include timings. Most offices open on working days from about 9 am to 5 pm; check with your office.
